NSF Award Honors Promising New Faculty
released
May 9, 2000
The National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER)
Program offers award opportunities for faculty members who show the potential to
become the academic leaders of the 21st century. CAREER awardees will be selected
based on their creative, integrative, and effective plans for their research and
education careers. These plans should build a firm foundation for a lifetime of
integrated contributions to research and education. This is the most prestigious
award NSF offers for new faculty members.
Between 200 and 300 awards will be granted over five years. The deadlines for
applying are June 25, 26, and 27, depending on the faculty member's field of
study. For more information, see http://www.nsf.gov/cgi-bin/getpub?nsf0089.
