The Shodor Education Foundation, Inc.'s website recently earned Forbes.com's
"Best of the Web" designation in the education category. The site will be
featured in the print version of Forbes magazine's "Best of the Web." Started
in 1994, Shodor is part of the Education, Outreach and Training Partnership for
Advanced Computational Infrastructure (EOT-PACI), the outreach effort of the
NSF's PACI program.
Forbes recognized the website as a creative approach to science and mathematics
education through "compelling interactive models and simulations." According to
Forbes, it also gives both students and teachers the opportunity to work with
sophisticated software tools.
Shodor is dedicated to reforming and improving mathematics and science education
using computational technologies. Its goal is to "extend valuable educational
sources and opportunities as far as possible." The foundation, although intended
mainly for teachers, offers resources for people at all educational levels.
