REU Students Flock Together at SC2000

released October 3, 2000

All former and present students involved in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program and their mentors are invited to attend at Birds of a Feather (BoF) session at SC2000 in Dallas.

REU is a program that allows students, especially women and minorities, the chance to work with researchers from the National Computational Science Alliance (Alliance) and National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI) as members of their research teams. The BoF will allow REU students to meet with each other and leaders of Alliance and NPACI research efforts to discuss their research experiences. It will also offer information on additional research opportunities available at Alliance and NPACI partner sites.

The BoF will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 5:30-7 p.m. in room D269 at the Dallas Convention Center. SC2000 will be held on Nov. 4-10 at the convention center.

REU is a program of the Education, Outreach and Training Partnerships for Advanced Computational Infrastructure, (EOT-PACI), the joint outreach effort of the Alliance and NPACI. EOT-PACI can provide limited travel support for REU students who would like to participate.

For more information and to register for the BOF, see http://www.npaci.edu/Outreach/PACI-REU/reunion/.
