Italian Research Team Tours NCSA

Four researchers from the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Research (INFN) made a special trip to NCSA while in the U.S. to attend the Grid Forum meeting in Boston.
The group participated in an informational exchange with NCSA researchers at the Beckman Institute on Oct. 19. In the morning, the INFN representatives presented research from their institute. They spoke about Globus services evaluations, the automatic Globus installation tool, INFN information services, workload management, and testbed production activities.
The afternoon was filled with talks from NCSA researchers. Alan Craig gave the guests a tour of the CAVE, followed by a discussion on applications. Scott Koranda presented an overview of the Alliance Computational Grid. Doru Marcusiu addressed Alliance Grid information services and user portals. Eric Blau and Michael Beltzinger talked about Grid packaging tools, and Von Welch presented MyProxy security delegation and key management service.
