CISE reorganizes, seeks Division Director

released July 15, 2003

The National Science Foundation's Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) is being reorganized and is seeking a new director.

The divisions of Advanced Computational Infrastructure and Research (ACIR) and Advanced Networking Infrastructure and Research (ANIR) will be combined into a new Division of Deployed Infrastructure (DDI).

The mission of DDI is to support the planning, construction, operation, and upgrading of the centers and facilities that are part of the national cyberinfrastructure for scientific and engineering research and education, and to encourage research on experimental infrastructure to ensure the advancement of cyberinfrastructure to meet the demands of tomorrow's science and engineering community.

In light of the fact that both ACIR and ANIR are headed by acting division directors, a new division director is being sought, and a position description has been posted at http://tinyurl.com/gnfn.
