NEES summit to be held Aug. 7

released July 15, 2003

On Aug. 7 a meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Chicago to provide an opportunity for principal representative from the NEES testing sites and NEES Consortium to interact with the NEES Systems Integrator on issues related to successful implementation of the NEES Collaboratory by Sept. 30, 2004.

Discussions will be structured about a road map of NEESgrid products that are scheduled to be completed over the next fourteen months. A draft of this roadmap will be distributed for comment in July and will include:

  • general project information
  • specifics on what each component means to the equipment sites
  • task completion dates
  • resource analyses for software releases
  • deployment plans, including the establishment of an engagement team
  • internal test and acceptance test plans.

Representatives of the sites and the Consortium are invited to attend this important meeting to provide their input to the NEESgrid road map. This Summit will provide an opportunity for face-to-face discussions with management of the System Integration team, with particular emphasis on finalizing, by consensus, this road map. Issues raised by the NEES Equipment Sites with their set of questions to the SI will also be addressed.

A detailed agenda for this meeting will be sent at a later date. Any agenda items as well as any comments on the proposed road map should be sent to Cristina Beldica at cbeldica@ncsa.uiuc.edu.

To register for the summit meeting, email David Gehrig at dgehrig@ncsa.uiuc.edu by Thursday, July 24. An attendance list will be distributed prior to the summit.
