Conference to Cover Information Security and Assurance

released August 26, 2003

The Computing Research Association conference on Grand Research Challenges in Information Security & Assurance will be Nov. 16 to 19 in Warrenton, Virginia.

Grand Challenges meetings seek "out-of-the-box" thinking to expose some of the exciting, deep challenges yet to be met in computing research. CRA is seeking scientists, educators, businesspeople, futurists, and others who have some vision and understanding of the big challenges (and accompanying advances) that should shape the research agenda in this field over the next few decades.

Attendance is limited to 50 people and is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending, submit a two-page (max.) statement of two or three examples of a "grand research challenge" problem in the IS/IA area to grcpapers@cra.org as a plain-text attachment by Sept. 17.

Your submission should end with a brief biographical statement of no more than one page. At the top of the first page, include your:

  • Name
  • Affiliation
  • Street address
  • Room number
  • City, State, Zip Code
  • Email
  • Telephone number

The National Science Foundation will provide travel and lodging support for some participants, when necessary. Please indicate in your submission whether you need to be considered for travel and/or lodging support.

Attendees must commit to attending for the entire conference, which will be at Airlie House in Warrenton, VA (30 miles from Washington-Dulles airport).
