Fast Long-Distance Networks Workshop
released
August 26, 2003
The second International Workshop on Protocols for Fast Long-Distance Networks will be Feb. 16-17, 2004, at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL).
Fast long-distance networks (that is, networks operating at 622 Mbit/s, 2.5 Gbit/s, or 10 Gbit/s and spanning several countries or states) are becoming commonplace. Although the network infrastructure is in place, or soon will be, the transport and application protocols available are in need of improvement. This workshop is designed to bring together researchers in this area to exchange ideas and experience.
Attendance will be limited to 60 participants. Registration will open Sept. 1. All attendees who are not U.S. citizens must register at least 45 days in advance to be allowed access to ANL.
Participants interested in presenting a paper should send a 1-2 page extended abstract to pfldnet2004@portnoy.lbl.gov by Oct.15.
