From noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 25) Internet2 will offer a virtual briefing titled "Adventure and All That Jazz: The JASON Virtual Argonauts Project, Live Jazz, K20, and Internet2." The briefing will provide an update on two Internet2 projects: the JASON Virtual Argonauts Project and the K-12 University Musical Collaboration.
The JASON Virtual Argonauts Project gives students from across the United States the opportunity to explore the biological and geological development of the earth with leading scientists. The project is led by Internet2 Sponsored Education Group Participants (SEGP) from California, Indiana, and Rhode Island.
The K-12 University Musical Collaboration encourages interaction and collaboration between university music departments and high school bands. Internet2 networks enable live concerts involving high school and university musicians via the Internet.
The presenters will be: James Werle, Internet2 and University of Washington; Scott Bryan, St. Clair County (Michigan) Intermediate School District; George Loftus, OSHEAN (The Ocean State Higher Education Economic Development and Administrative Network), and Susan Scott, IHETS (Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System).
