released November 04, 2003

The NIH/NCRR Center for Bioelectric Field Modeling, Simulation, and Visualization will offer a pair of workshops for users and developers of its software. The workshop for users will be Dec. 14-15; the developers workshop will be Dec. 14-16. The workshops will be in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The intended audience for the users workshop is all users and potential users of the NCRR software suite. A moderate familiarity with bioelectric field problems as well as a rudimentary knowledge of Unix/Linux is assumed. Developers should be comfortable with C/C++ programming, competent Unix/Linux users, and have a basic knowledge of bioelectric field problems. Knowledge of Tcl/Tk, emacs, and XML are all useful but not required.

Users should be present on days 1 and 2 and developers all three days. Developers with substantial previous knowledge can either join on day 2 or use day 1 for one-on-one sessions with developers in the lab.

Workshop tuition is $175-$200 per person, depending on the number of participants from your institution. Registration closes on Nov. 21. The registration form can be downloaded from http://www.sci.utah.edu/ncrr/workshops/workshop03/registration.html and should be faxed to 801-585-6513 or mailed to Allyne Betancourt, Scientific Computer and Imaging Institute, University of Utah, 50 S.
