released November 18, 2003

The ISC Award has been created on the initiative of ISC2004's main sponsor, AMD, to motivate innovative supercomputing researchers to contribute outstanding HPC findings to the International Supercomputer Conference. Starting in 2004, it will be held yearly to reward and promote those people who have distinguished themselves through state-of-the-art projects. ISC2004 will award projects in the three fields requiring high-performance computing listed below:

  1. Requirements for HPC Systems Software: This includes contributions about parallel file systems and operating systems for HPC.
  2. Innovative Supercomputer Architectures: This includes contributions about successful applications of such innovative architectures.
  3. Integrated Data and Information Management.

Extended abstracts of not less than four pages should be submitted to the chairman of the Award Committee, Michael Resch, at resch@hlrs.de by Feb. 16, 2004.

The prizes in 2004 are fully sponsored by AMD. All three winners will be awarded a two-way rack mountable system fully configured as a building block for a cluster.
