NCSA co-sponsors mentoring presentation

Carol Muller, the founder and CEO of the successful e-mentoring organization MentorNet, will give a presentation on "Mentoring: A Key to Success in Engineering, Science, & Math" at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 in the auditorium at the NCSA Building, 1205 W. Clark Street, Urbana.

MentorNet is an award-winning nonprofit e-mentoring network that addresses the retention and success of students in engineering, science, and mathematics. Founded in 1997, MentorNet provides highly motivated students from many of the world's top colleges and universities with one-on-one, email-based relationships with mentors from industry and academia. MentorNet has more than 17,745 community members, and since 1998 has matched approximately 13,000 mentors and protégés from all 50 U.S. states and 55 countries on six continents.

Muller's presentation will focus on the importance of mentoring and will discuss work/life balance, college success, resumes, and internships.

Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

The presentation is co-sponsored by the Office of Special Programs of the College of Engineering and NCSA.
