NCSA staff participate in VizSec05

released October 31, 2005

The 2005 Workshop on Visualization for Computer Security (VizSec05) was held on Oct. 26 in Minneapolis to bring together computer security professionals and visualization researchers to explore the use of visualization methods to address issues of cybersecurity. Last year's inaugural VizSec workshop was organized by NCSA senior systems security engineer William Yurcik, who served this year as a program co-chair.

During the workshop, NCSA graduate research assistant Kiran Lakkaraju and NCSA's Ratna Bearavolu presented a paper on "Closing-the-Loop in NVisionIP: Integrating Discovery and Search in Security Visualizations," which was authored by Bearavolu, Lakkaraju, Yurcik, and NCSA security engineer Adam Slagell.
