Donna Cox exhibits digital art at Krannert Art Museum
released March 10, 2006
Donna Cox, the leader of NCSA's Visualization Division and a professor in the School of Art + Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has contributed several of her works to CALCULART, a monthlong celebration of art and mathematics at the new 21st Century Gallery at the Krannert Art Museum (500 E. Peabody, Urbana).
CALCULART is the first curated exhibit of the CANVAS project, a joint effort between Krannert and the Integrated Systems Laboratory at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology that explores the relationships between science and art.
Two collaborative pieces created using holographic images by Cox and Ellen Sandor, a pioneer in the use of digital media, are featured, as are other digital animations created by Cox in collaboration with NCSA staffers Bob Patterson and Jeff Carpenter.
