High-performance Network Applications Workshop
CENIC and the National Laboratory for Advanced Network Research (NLANR)
will be holding the second in a series of workshops on high-performance
network applications at the University of California, Los Angeles on
December 8, 2000.
Hosted by the UCLA Department of Design, December's workshop will be
devoted to the development and the application of Data Mining technology.

Data Mining applications automatically provide a user with tailored
summaries of the information contained in large databases.
This workshop will focus on three specific sets of issues surrounding
automatic knowledge discovery, or "Data Mining", including:
- Physical Limitations and Considerations
- Organizational Challenges
- Application Development
Seating is very limited for this workshop. Registration is free for
members of CENIC Founding Partner Associates, Affiliate Associates, and
Member Universities. Attendees from non-profit organizations and academic
institutions not affiliated with CENIC will be charged $49. All others
will be charged $99. Lunch will be served.
